A kitchen remodel in Michigan can vary on pricing due to several factors. Your kitchen is completely customizable from the cabinetry, to the door knobs. This can make a kitchen remodel either completely budget friendly, or wildly expensive, depending on what you choose. Ensuring you choose a contractor that is willing to work with you within your budget is very important!

Based on your material costs, your kitchen cabinetry is typically the most expensive item on the material list. This is because cabinets are usually custom made and made from hardwood. You can purchase cabinetry that is less expensive and made from materials such as MDF, but the quality in your cabinetry is very important if you want your kitchen to last a long time!

When trying to estimate how much your kitchen remodel is going to cost, it is typically between 10-30% of your home value. Once you get your initial estimate, if you are unsure with the costs involved, talk with your contractor. Communication is important to understand the investment that you are creating in your home. Your kitchen is the heart of the home!

A kitchen remodel can take anywhere from 1-10 months to complete. Your contractor should be able to walk you through the process. 
The first 1-2 weeks are the initial planning weeks where your contractor will be getting measurements, and making sure you know where your cabinets will be going. 
The following 4-6 weeks involves creating your design, going over paperwork, finalizing the plans, choosing the materials and verifying the cabinetry. 
The next 1-2 months include the demolition of the current kitchen, ordering of all of the materials and cabinetry, countertops, etc, and starting to get things installed. 

Typically a kitchen remodel takes a total of 1-3 months for installing everything. 
The following 1-2 weeks is finalizing the small stuff. For example, your hardware, caulking, lighting, etc.
